The Grand Central Partnership (GCP), one of the nation’s largest business improvement district management firms, is looking for candidates to fill positions as public safety officers in the Midtown Manhattan community. Public Safety Officers play an integral role in Grand Central Partnership’s mission to deliver supplemental public safety, sanitation, beautification and visitor services to a 70-square-block area in surrounding Grand Central Terminal.
General Requirements and Responsibilities
Candidates must be willing to commit to working a pre-established evening tour of 40 hours a week from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., including weekends and holidays. Candidates must be licensed as security officers by the State of New York Secretary of State. Public Safety Officers are a physical presence of the Grand Central Partnership on the streets of the Grand Central neighborhood, where they interact with and provide assistance as needed to the public, GCP’s stakeholders and neighborhood businesses. Public Safety Officers may also be assigned to GCP’s Taxi Stand(s) where they are responsible for maintaining an orderly cab line. They also provide assistance to the NYPD and other policing authorities by observing and reporting situations that require law enforcement response as well as protecting GCP assets.
PSOs are expected to conduct themselves in a courteous, professional and respectful manner at all times. Particularly while in uniform, they are expected to be neat and clean. Salary: $13.00/hour
Schedule: All candidates must be able to work from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on a five day a week schedule including weekends and holidays.
